NATA 2014 stands for National Aptitude Test In Architecture. It is a national level examination for XII passed out students who are willing to pursue Architectural courses across top colleges in India. NATA 2014 examination is conducted by Central board of Secondary education (CBSE) and Council of Architectures (COI) in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Government of India(GOI). Through this examination, you can get into B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture).
NATA 2014 Eligibility Criteria:
- You must have completed your higher secondary (12th) with PCM as main subjects with minimum 50% are eligible to take this exam.
- If you are waiting for results can also apply for this examination.
- Candidate who have completed 3 year diploma course can also take up this exam.
- You must have attained at least 17 years in age.
NATA 2014 Important Dates:
The notification regarding NATA 2014 was not yet released. It is expected to be released on 15.2.2014. The registration process is expected to be commencing right from 1.3.2014.
The validity of NATA score card is only 2 years.
NATA 2014 Application Form:
The application fee for NATE examination is Rs.1000/-. You can apply online for this examination. You can log on to the official site of NATA, www.nata.in. Or you can also get the application form via post on a request letter to the university. In that case, you must pay the fees in the form of demand draft. You can also get the application form at designated branches of ICICI bank. If you are paying the fee via online, you can make use of your credit card, debit card or visa card for fee payment.
NATA 2014 Scheme of Examination:
You can take up the exam only in online mode and not by paper and pen based. The question paper will be only in English. There is no negative marking in this examination.
The examination consists of multiple choice objective questions that are divided into 2 parts.
1. Drawing test
2. Aesthetic Sensitivity Test
Drawing Test: This test will test candidate’s ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner. It also reveals about Visualizing and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings. It also test your Sense of perspective drawing, Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form, Creating interesting two dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms. You must have good understanding of scale and proportions.
The drawing test will be paper based. The time duration for this test is two hours. You have two divisions containing one question each. Each division has 2 subdivisions.
Aesthetic Sensitivity Test: This test will sketch your mental ability skills, analytical reasoning, imaginative comprehension, architechtural awareness etc. You must have ability to visualize three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings. You must have capability to realize three different sides in three dimensional drawings.
Since this examination is a national level examination, you need to put more hard work to succeed in this examination.
Aesthetic Sensitivity Test will be conducted in online mode (Computer based). The total duration for this test is only two hours. You will have to answer 40 questions out of which all are compulsory.
